Summer School

The EES Academy Summer School takes place annually, usually in July. The program features lectures by international experts on a range of topics in battery research, alongside a strong focus on scientific exchange between participants through poster sessions and oral presentations. Special sessions on “Trouble and Failed Attempts” promote learning from setbacks and provide a space to share ideas on overcoming common challenges. Intercultural and soft skills trainings are also part of the curricula. Social activities are another integral part of the program, fostering networking through events ranging from hiking trips to evening barbecues.

You don’t need to be an EES Academy member to join the Summer School. It is open to all interested PhD candidates, master’s students, and postdocs, regardless of their home institution — and attendees from industry are welcome as well.

Please note that no Summer School is planned for 2026. Instead, a Winter School will exceptionally take place at the end of January 2027, more information coming soon.
