Workshop Introduction to Research Data Management 2026

The workshop addresses current challenges in managing, sharing, and preserving research data and workflows in collaborative and interdisciplinary research environments within POLiS. It introduces structured approaches to research data management and their implementation using the Kadi ecosystem.

The workshop is structured in two parts:

Part 1 – Introduction to selected aspects of research data handling in collaborative research environments, illustrated through typical use cases from POLiS. The FAIR data principles will be briefly addressed in this context.

Part 2 -Introduction to Kadi as an environment for structured research data management. Participants will become familiar with core concepts (Records, Templates, and linking mechanisms) and translate research processes into structured representations in Kadi through guided, practice-oriented exercises based on real research use cases.

Participation in the workshop is mandatory for doctoral researchers funded by POLiS, EES Academy Affiliates will gain 0.5 CP within “Good Scientific Practice / Research Ethics”.
